Nadine Merabi is a luxury ready-to-wear label that designs with the intention of empowering and inspiring its wearers. Founded in 2010, the brand is now led by the creative ingenuity of Nadine Merabi and the business enterprise of managing director, Blue Wilson. Here, a timeline of the brand’s story and journey thus far.
Merabi’s foray into fashion began while she was organising events alongside her international hockey career. She responded to her personal desire for pieces that allowed her to experiment freely with fashion. Faced with a market saturated with replica designs, poor fit and quality along with overpriced dresses, Merabi decided to change this.
In 2010, she starts by teaching herself to sew via YouTube tutorials.
With her sewing skills expanding, Nadine’s confidence in her own ability and the brand’s potential continue to thrive. Inserting a zip is her latest technical achievement and her eponymous dresses start to gain attention from high-profile customers.
Just two years after the inception of her first designs, Nadine Merabi makes her debut at Manchester Fashion Week with the spring/summer collection taking to the catwalk in April.
By October, Selfridges has placed an order and Nadine delivered the garments in just three months. Still a one woman team, she makes this happen by devoting all her time to the garments and working from her bedroom.

As the year comes to a close, things show no sign of slowing down. The Monique, Freya and Rachel styles make a grand return to the collection and swiftly sell out. In November, the autumn/winter collection is launched and soon worn by Strictly hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman. A new arrival, Etti Ellis, makes sure that 2021 comes to a close in a memorable fashion.
